Not Your Average Trucking Company

Founded in 1982 by Glendon and Anna Walker, TransLand started with one truck and three employees. TransLand started as mostly a drayage company taking piggyback trailers off the railroad hubs in Springfield and Kansas City. Founder, Glendon spent 25 years with Frisco Transportation, a subsidiary of Frisco Railroad. When Burlington Northern acquired Frisco in 1980, Glendon saw an opportunity to start his own business.

Today, TransLand operates in all 48 states with a primary focus in the Midwest. The main terminal is in Strafford, Missouri on Old Route 66. There is also a new terminal as of 2023 in O’Fallon, MO that supports about 30 drivers.

TransLand celebrated 40 years of service in January 2022 and has been selected as a Best Fleet to Drive For® in 2022, 2023, and 2024.
